Product Review
Product Description
Swimming Pool Legs allow allow your dog to walk out of the water unassisted using the PetSTEP II multi-purpose ramp system. The PetSTEP II MPR ramp (not included) is designed not to sink in water; therefore, the legs are hollow, allowing them to fill with water (holding the ramp in place). The ramp legs have rubber feet to keep it in place as well as to protect the surface of the pool. WILL NOT RUST OR CORRODE. PetSTEP II MPR Swimming Pool Legs Kit. Model # 228. Kit contains two (2) Aircraft Aluminum legs with rubber feet, 24.5" long, plus 4 (4) fiddle screws. Easy installation: simply insert legs at the bottom of the ramp. Place the curved section of the ramp on the side of the pool and place in pool with the legs at the shallow end.

We got the legs to go with our PetStep Multi Purpose ramp. Our elderly Chessie loves swimming in the pool, but jumping in was hurting her arthritic back legs -- and then trying to climb out using the steep steps we had was nearly impossible. The legs would be perfect for most dogs, but in her case, because of her age and her bad legs, the ramp was hitting her in the groin area, so my husband cut the legs down to make the ramp lower, and now they are great.

I have had this set up last year and I have to say that it may be a good ramp for a car, it isn't really designed for a pool at all.
First the brace between legs is metal and it rusted out in the first season in the pool. I had to paint it with rustoleum halfway through the season just to be able to keep using it.
Then the rubber caps continually come off the bottom of the legs leaving the ends of the legs with a thin bare metal edge coming into contact with the liner of my pool. Thank god I discovered this happening before my 70+ pound dog jumped on the ramp and ripped two square holes in the bottom of my $1000 pool liner. I ended up having to wrap the bottom of the legs in duck tape to protect my pool. Now the legs don't sit at the right angle and the ramp starts folding up underneath itself making it a complete hazard for my dog, not to mention the side of my pool.
And the last thing that is very poorly designed are the metal plates at the top...Read more
