Summary: Work very well, not as easy to "wipe clean" as stated 2010-03-04
Comment: We have two adopted huskies and though we keep our house cold, they prefer it even slightly chillier, so these beds are perfect for them. We keep them in our bedroom on top of carpet and I sewed custom cotton sheet covers for them to make them more attractive AND because I couldn't clean off the muddy tracks completely by just wiping them down (our dogs have unlimited access to our large yard via doggie door most of the time). I even tried to clean them with detergent but not much luck. So with the cotton fitted sheets, I just toss them in the wash and voila, all is beautiful again.

Summary: Best dog "water bed" product ever bought! 2010-02-05
Comment: I have what you would call a "hot dog." He is always hot and pants a lot. I have bought many "water bed" type beds for him over 10 years. This K&H Cool Bed 3 is my first K&H brand "water bed" I ever bought (I have bought other brands & have not been happy with them). I am very pleased with it! The bed is strong and I have not had any leaks like my previous dog "water bed" products. I highly recommend this bed for all those "hot" pets out there.

Summary: Rocky the wonder dog! 2010-01-29
Comment: Rocky is our ten year old part poodle, part who knows what, that is the most loved neighborhood dog in the world! Kids come from far and wide to visit with him as he sits in our front yard every morning under our Camelia bush. A couple of years ago he was diagnosed with Cushings Disease. It is also known as hyperadrenocorticism which is the condition that results from the chronic overproduction of glucocorticoid in the body. Symptoms are panting, drinking excessively, urinating excessively, eating excessively, weight gain and I could go on and on. We could not find anything to make him comfortable until my daughter found the K&H Cool Bed 3 on amazon.com. I have got to tell you that this bed has absolutely saved his life! He LOVES it and spends most of his day on it. We're able to put ice cubes in it because the valve opening is big enough so mixed with the water it is absolutely heaven for him. The cooler the bed the happier he is and the fact that it's like floating on water which means less resistant against his tired old body makes him all the more happy! One reviewer spoke about gel in the bed. There is no gel so I'm not sure what they're referring to. There is a sponge like foam that lines the inside, you can see it when you look into the valve opening and that becomes part of the cushioning of the bed once you fill it with water. If you move the bed once it is filled with water, I might add that is extremely difficult, the foam could get folded over but if you manipulate the bed for awhile you can get the foam to lay flat again. It helps to know what you're working with! Anyway, I can't say enough about this bed but I do know that it's making whatever time Rocky has left in this world the most comfortable he could possibly be. Thank you, thank you K&H!

Summary: Great from the get-go! 2009-12-30
Comment: Just received the Cool Bed III (Large) for my 15 yr. old australian shepherd. I followed the easy instructions and then put it to the test. Ginger is now fast asleep on the bed! She loves it! She is one of the double-coated aussies, so she is usually very warm when everyone else is comfortable. In her old age, she is having trouble regulating her body temp so at night (during the winter) she is always up and panting. We have even set the thermostat to 52 degrees to try to help her stay cool. It is currently 65 degrees and she's snoozing away on the bed!!! I can't believe it!!! No panting!!! I wish I had found this bed sooner...
The only con to this bed is it is heavy when full (6.75 gallons). Moving it from living room to bedroom is not an option for me.

Summary: My dog was hesitant but definitely used it. 2009-12-12
Comment: It stays pretty cool. In fact I wanted to lay down on it in the heat just to cool off in our house. No puncture problems here considering I hadn't trimmed my dog's nails in about 2 months. (that's a big deal since her front paws grow so fast.) It gets dirty fairly easy and I tried to keep it wiped off but that almost seemed impossible. It's also pretty heavy once filled with water so make sure to use your legs to lift.:) Also, when it's time to put it away for the winter it was quite trying to get all the water out but I think we accomplished that although then it got left out in the rain. Darn it.
