Comfort Pet Products Double Ortho Mat

I purchased this bed for my 23-pound terrier who has a little arthritis in his hips. I gleefully set it up for him and put his old bed in the garage. Three days later, when I saw him at the door with his bags packed and a taxi waiting outside, I knew I had made a big mistake. Let me save you from the same fate.

First, this bed is far too stiff for a small dog -- only slightly more comfortable than sleeping on a styrofoam plank.

Second, I could find nothing about this bed that would support the claim that it's "great for pets with arthritis" -- quite the opposite.

Third, the bed is made of two stiff pieces of foam with egg-crate-shaped surfaces. They are glued back-to-back to create height and thus the illusion of softness. If the previous reviewer's comment about Tempur-Pedic conjurs up visions of pressing one's hand into a mattress, note that NOTHING like Tempur-Pedic happens with this material -- there is NO memory foam material in this bed...Read more

The concept for this is great since we love our tempurpedic bed. But (as with our tempurpedic bed) the memory foam smells terrible for the first few weeks. Our dog wouldn't get near the bed so I couldn't tell if she really liked it. I returned it before the smell dissipated since we were running out of time. Our dog stopped getting on our bed when we got the tempurpedic and wouldn't get back up until the smell was gone (several months for her). Keep this in mind if you order the bed.

Ordered product, recv'd call out of stock, will send better dog bed. took 2 weeks and my son to put it in the cover, to large. My dog hates it, he will not lay in the replacement bed at all. Called, sorry it has been used and can't take it back. Will NEVER buy from them again.
