I may have to open the inner pillow and stuff in a bit more polyfil in order to make it more comfortable for my pooch. The filling spreads and leaves the dog's elbows and knees on the hard floor and as a result she's not interested sleeping on it. Other than being understuffed, it's quite large if that's what you need- at 52'' diameter, it could accommodate a Dane, large Rottweiler, or other Mastiff-type dog (or just leave a lot of room for your smaller pup to spread out). The description lists this item as machine-washable- the care tag is quite a bit more specific- requiring owners use a front-loading commercial washer to wash the outer cover. The pillow may be fluffed in a commercial dryer (no words on washing). The plaid fleece cover top is very soft and muted in color. The cover bottom appears to be of the same material as some of Coleman's tents. This review is from: Coleman Classic Round Dog Bed, Extra-Large (Sports) The bed looks like it was hand sewn by a 4-year old. There is almost no stuffing in the bed, and must be washed in the sink when dirty. If you put the cover in the washing machine, IT WILL GET RUINED. After my wife did this, she sewed another cover for the bed (machine washable this time), and put adequate stuffing in it, and turned it into a great bed. Of course, we could have made one from scratch that is more comfortable and more convenient than this crummy dog bed...and for a third of the cost.
Do yourself a favor: find someone to make you a dog bed or buy one from the store. I'm surprised that Amazon continues to sell these crummy products after multiple bad reviews. |
