I bought this for my two cats because I wanted to see how they interacted with cat furniture before I bought something larger and more expensive. They both love this scratching post. My younger 1 year old cat was shimmying up the posts before I had even finished attaching the top platform. My cat loves the hanging pom poms, which hang from elastic so they spring away when he lets go, he especially enjoys sitting on the platform and reaching under to grab a toy.

A few aspects to note about the scratching post: It is very easy to assemble, it comes with a one page illustrated diagram and an allen wrench is supplied so no other tools are needed. The posts don't have to be placed in the order that they are illustrated in, I altered mine so that there was one long sisal post, one fur post and one sisal/fur post. I was supplied with 8 hanging toys, and there are 7 locations to hang toys from - one on each of the mini ledges and 4 from the top platform.

This cat bed is a generous size-big enough for 2 cats to sleep in together. I love the colors and feel of it; it feels like real fur. The removable cushion is reversible-one side is cinnamon brown, the other side is ivory.I have 4 cats, 2 of them are 11 month old female sisters(Lucy & Lindy). Lindy loves to sleep in this bed, but Lucy loves to lay her belly across the side of it while kneading her paws on the soft cushion. The bed has a nonskid bottom. Haven't tried to wash it yet in the washer, but it is supposed to be machine washable. Wish my own bed was as luxurious as this!

I bought this for my 14 lb Chihuahua rat terrier and it is the perfect size! He loves to curl up when he sleeps so the shape is also perfect. And it is the softest bed I've ever felt, which is a definite plus! I'm also glad that it's machine washable.No complaints about this bed, it is just what I wanted for him. He'll be using it at home and when we travel! I wish I could find a bed this comfortable for myself!

EDIT: So my dog used this as a bed for about 2 months and a couple road trips, but then suddenly he decided that he prefers it as his toy. Since the pillow is removable, he is constantly removing it and trying to wrestle and chew it up. Not what I had hoped for! I'm always having to keep the bed out of his reach now and only use it on road trips when he needs a place to lie down in the car. So next time I'll be sure to buy a bed that doesn't have a removable pillow! Still love this bed, though.
